Is Spiritualism Ordained by God?Of course it is. We must begin with the assertion that a Medium is not the same as a psychic. Mediums work at learning to communicate with only the highest Spirits, for the Highest Good of all involved. Some psychics do this as well, but many do not. When you look at the beliefs of Spiritualism, most of them coincide nicely with more conservative Christian beliefs. The biggest difference is experience. When "Doubting Thomas" said that he would not believe in the resurrection of Jesus until he put his hand in His side and his fingers in the nail holes in His hands, Jesus did not say, "You are unworthy, because you doubted." Instead, He said " Reach hither thy finger, and behold my hands; and reach hither thy hand, and thrust it into my side: and be not faithless, but believing." (John 20:27) The purpose of mediumship is not to have a conversation with Uncle Louis, as entertaining as that might be. The purpose is to learn to provide proof of the Continuity of Life, and then to hear the voice of the great Teachers, the Prophets, the Angels, and ultimately, the voice of God. We do not believe that Creation was an event that happened 6000 years ago, and that God spoke to the Prophets for 4000 years and then stopped. How can anyone look at a newborn baby and believe that Creation is not continuous? How can one do the will of God if one does not listen for instructions? We have found that the Will of God is with us always, but it takes time to learn to listen to that voice and not the voice of our own Ego. What is Free Will for, if not to decide whether to serve God or Mammon? We also believe in Healing, as do many other churches. Did not Jesus say, "He that believeth on Me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do, because I go unto the Father."? (John 14:12) |
